What is AOP / LOP?Updated 2 months ago

AOP and LOP can be used interchangeably. AOP stands for arterial occlusion pressure, while LOP stands for limb occlusion pressure. We’ll use LOP for now. Each refer to the same exact thing - the amount of pressure required to fully restrict arterial blood flow to the limb. LOP sets the benchmark for BFR training as BFR training often involves training at a specific percentage of LOP, such as 50%. With your LOP calculated, the cuffs can inflate to a specific percentage of your LOP. As an example using round numbers, if the cuff measures your LOP at 200 mmHg, it will inflate to 100 mmHg if 50% occlusion is selected.
